Scene Two
Psychos, Tyrants and Havoc, Oh My
"I must thank you for coming, Mr. Kent, at this dire time, with Earth and the galaxy being attacked; since you were listed fourth to contact."
Fourth?! I was Superman once. I should have at least be second to Mr. Kelly thought Adam Kent the former second Superman. Though in Adam Kent's somewhat tortured mind, he felt ignored by those who had looked up to him, including his own son, which was not completely unexpected since he was well passed his prime. It had been almost a decade since his powers had decreased substantially, so he had only slightly more strength than a normal human being. On top of that his invulnerability, which once carried him through battles with some of the most powerful super villains ever, was reduced to being 'nothing less than a bursting artillery shell could break his skin' status. So it was no wonder he was treated as fourth-most-important-person-in-the-world.
It was also no wonder that Kent took the term 'chain-smoker' to the extreme. With his undamageable lungs, he smoked about two bricks per day. Kent pulled the cigarette from his mouth and blew smoke at the nervous shrink, who coughed at the fumes. Kent smoked mostly to dull the pain of all the years as Superman but he also believed the smoke made his silvery-colored sides of his hair more distinguished. He threw the half smoked cigarette at the ground and stomped it out. He pulled a pack of cigarettes and a lighter out from his long brown trenchcoat. He hit the bottom to push out a cigarette and put it in his mouth. He flicked the lighter, wishing he still had heat vision while doing it, and lit the cigarette. He placed the lighter and pack back in his coat.
Doctor Miller Manville continued, "Both of the Kellys and your son are off planet, so it had to be you to respond to our Psycho-Pirate problem."
"And what trouble could some nutjob being causing you and your crack staff of southern 'tards?"
"Well, he started taking about this invasion from another dimension and then it came true. So-"
"I'll take care of it, little doctor man." Kent shoved Dr. Manville out of his way walked down to the cell of the Psycho-Pirate. At the end was the Orderly, who starred at him, with his mouth open, clearing showing his big wad of chew. "Son, I know monkeys that are smarter than you but yes I was once Superman and if you don't close your ugly trap I'll rip your jaw off." The Orderly closed his mouth quickly as he ever had.
Kent then opened the door to Psycho-Pirate's cell and closed it behind him. Kent rubbed the stubbly on his face as he thought of what to say. The answer came to him and he said, "Hey, the Anti-Monitor returned and said I should get you."
Psycho-Pirate, on his knees, screamed bloody murder at the mention of the Anti-Monitor. Anti-Monitor was the villain of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, during which he kidnapped the Psycho-Pirate and tortured him into his current schizophrenic state. "No, he can't have me! I have to stop the Garenth! Have not time for Anti-Monitor! Wait! You're lying! Trying to trick me! Anti-Monitor is dead! You're the second Superman! You were at the Crisis when all the universes were destroyed! You can make them believe me!"
Kent hit the Psycho-Pirate in the face to shut him up. As the Pirate fell to the padded cell floor, Kent yelled,
"Idiot! We can't let people know about the multiverse and the Crisis. Someone powerful could easily destroy us all with that kind of knowledge."
Unagi's black eyes opened wide. "Crisis," he murmured to himself. "There's more? More universes...and more Rangers. More opposition. An eternity to conquer them all!" Electricity crackled all around him at this dire news. Then an idea came to him at that moment. "Merging the multiverse...it is the only way." Unagi Garenth concentrated his temples. "I'll fuse them all into one, then unleash my armies for the final conquest. General Havoc, I have your orders." A telepathic link was immediately established. "Man your fastest ship and obtain the one called 'Psycho-Pirate.' Bring him to me by any means needed. His knowledge is the key to tearing down the walls of reality. ALL reality. There is no other way."
The Varox fighter jet tore the green atmosphere of planet Liara; the fiery afterburners blazing over the ruling oceans. On Liara, the bodies of water determined what races inhabited the planet. For one, this particular star system was universally known, according to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Lost Galaxy, as one of the technologically backwards in the galaxy, and for centuries only the most simple and well-meaning creatures, usually small furry creatures with humanoid body movements, grazed the lands. Second, and more importantly, Liara's waters had in the recent century attracted a scurvy space pirate named Divatox, who came to the planet in search for a golden key possessed by one of the peaceful furry creatures. However, it wasn't her presence that inevitably brought the dramatic extinction to the planet's peace. In fact it was her brother, General Havoc, who would earn that honor after renovating the lands for his construction fleets.
When Havoc first heard of this planet from his sister, he knew the potential that laid before him. Practically ripe for some overlord's picking who had the technology of a digital watch, Havoc later seized the planet as a permanent establishment for his never-ending works. Even though his works usually took centuries to complete.
In fact, he had once promised his sister an astral base of operations so technologically extravagant that none in the universe would compare to it. And one millennium later, he made good on that promise. However, the Zord, Metallasaurus, which had also been in construction for mere centuries, took under a week for Divatox to lose to the then-Turbo Rangers.
Havoc did in fact promise a new more powerful Zord to avenge this horrendous event. And build a new one he did. However, as repayment for carelessly destroying what took an eternity to create in the first place, the Zord he built for her, Metallasarus mark III (the second of which was destroyed in under a day), indeed was set to implode once Divatox boarded it on the Space Base.
Divatox, though stripped of all the riches and glory she'd collected, survived (and she alone) the attack and fled the galaxy. Havoc, however, used the information he'd gained about Liara and decided that its primitive settings would be an ideal site for mass producing more bases and Zords faster than was ever before possible. It was this kind of seclusion he had been seeking for all these centuries, and he would probably have found it sooner if not for his sister's consistent demands.
Only one task faced him- the current inhabitants. Surely they'd pose no threat, but the last time he underestimated a group of annoying creatures, particularly ones donned in tight spandex, he nearly had his metal casings melted off in a humiliating defeat. As a proud general, tactics was his life. And this was the biggest jump of his career. As soon as he personally set foot on the planet's surface, he had all inhabitant areas instantly napalmed.
Such feats were what led him to this moment. Leaving his pride and joy, Liaria, for a task suited only to a general of his status. If capturing this Psycho-Pirate meant the pinnacle of his career, his ultimate highlight, then he'd make sure nothing stood in the way of this mission. No sacrifice would be small enough this time.
